About Karen

After a ten year career as a graphic designer in Montreal, I came to Vancouver B.C. to study Classical Animation at the Vancouver Film School. While there, I came to realize that I had a knack for storyboarding.

That’s the direction I took when I started my animation career and it’s the path I’ve stayed on since 1997 (gads, I’m aging myself…). I’ve worked on a wide variety of shows over the years that you can check out here in more detail:

I also taught at the very school I studied at. For four years I was the storyboard instructor in the Classical Animation, Game Design, Film Production and Digital Design programs at VFS. If I ever taught you…”Hey!”. And over the years what I’ve realized is that I love story, period. So I want to help other people tell their stories visually. This blog is just the start of that plan.

I’d like to extend my teaching experience here. I hope you will help me create the content you want by commenting on the posts and sending me questions you’d like answered (see the contact page).

I invite you to read the blog by RSS feed or by email (on the left) and enjoy! I hope you visit often. If you want more information on the whole RSS thing, see this article.

I currently work as a freelance animation storyboard artist and reside in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
